Hi – just got my vBench setup so I should probably post something in it, so I guess I will introduce myself and show you some pictures of the real workbench!
Typical model history: Been building models since I was a little kid – lost interest when I was a teenager. Now I’m 10 years out of college and getting back into the hobby. I started back in about 2-3 years ago when I picked up a copy of Military Miniatures in Review in a local hobby shop. Wow! PE, turned metal barrels, resin, Dragon, etc! I dumped most of my collection of unbuilt models that I still had from childhood on eBay and started buying newer stuff. Found I had discovered a new hobby along with my old one. I now spend as much time buying and selling armor model related stuff on eBay as I do building models.
Anyway – I spent the last few years lurking on all the message boards and building up my collection, but not really getting anything built (sound familiar?) so I decided to set up this vBench to help keep me focused on building.
My interests are mostly WWII – but it doesn’t matter if it is US, German, Russian, or whatever. I like things to be accurate, but I’m not going to lose sleep over a few millimeters here or there. I do this for fun, and if it is more fun to build and not be 100% correct than that is what is going to happen.
I always love to see everyone’s workshops, so I’ve included some shots of mine.
