Hi there,
One other thing I've been up to as of late, the
1/72 Dragon Beobachtungspanzer Panther G.
If you don't know, this was an artillery observation vehicle.
The gun is fake, the only defensive weapons were the two
machine guns.
This one was with 12th Artillery Regiment “Hitlerjungend”
Division, Hungry, 1945.
My weathering was done with a Raw Umber wash, followed by
powders. The mud on the front and rear, and underside is actually
wood filler, which I find works great as a filler and for mud. The
mud on road wheels and tracks is powder applied with a wet brush. All this
is sealed under a flat coat and it is quite durable. Especially the wood filler.
My hope was to portray a tank a day or so after a heavy rain, where the mud
has begun to dry, but there are still plently wet spot around so you have a
combination of dust/mud from the ground up.
Dragon has done a great job with this kit and I would've
posted sooner but I've been working on it for
TrackLink.
Many thanks to Dragon Models USA for the review sample!
Cheers,
Donovan
