Ok, so it's been ages since I've posted anything new... sorry, it's not like I've been idle. My camera hit the crapper, that's pretty much why I haven't posted any new projects in a while. Here's a DML "night fighting" Panther G kit I'm backdating to a Sept-Oct. '44 production vehicle. Probably M.A.N., although I haven't ruled out D.B. as an option either:
In this photo you can see I've already started tracing out the camouflage pattern (based on a 2 SS-Pz.Div. example outside Manhay, Belgium)... my good friend Roddy MacDougall has been pestering me to modify the shape of the aperture in the kugelblende I'm using here

, but you probably can't make out much of the work I've done on it. The mantlet is the one which comes with DML's "Achtung Jabo!" figure set... I'll be using the cupola from that kit as well. The gun is Aber - not as much trouble to fit together as some of their other barrels I've tried out.
More modifications are apparent on the rear hull plate. The stowage bins are Voyager PE items, soldered together. The wiring for the convoy light is per Panzer Tracts 5-3. The exhaust stacks are Moskit, but they're too short - next time I'll buy the Bergepanther stacks and cut them down... hence the shrouds I used here; they're hiding the extensions.
Everything in this top view should be pretty self-explanatory - the cleaning rod stowage tube is rolled copper sheet, soldered together. I may end up re-doing this because it's a touch overscale (maybe). The yellow seams are, as usual, weld beads made form Tamiya two-part epoxy.
That's all for now...
