Tiger II s.SS-Pz. Abt. 101 - France '44

Hi,

Here is my new build, a Tiger II, belonging to Tiger II s.SS-Pz. Abt. 101, late august '44.

I would like to depict Tiger tactical number 104 or 113 or 133, not decided yet!

Larry (Bates) already confirmed to me what I had understood from all the reference I have: that s. SS-Pz. Abt. 101 used yellow tactical numbers hand-painted with or without white outline on their early T II.

Does anyone have other or more accurate informations?

From the pictures I have, it seems to me that 113 does not have the white outline, but I'm not really sure about 104, since the numbers look wider than those of 113 or 133, and could be for the white outlining...

Basically I do not want to do a too complicated built, so I will keep the extra-detailing to the indispensable!:

I had a Cavalier Zimmerit kit for Tamiya which I wanted to put in use.
The barrel is from a newer Dragon T II kit (Ardennes' one) where I will then use an Aber one.
The towing cable is cannibalized from a Tamiya kit (it looks better), and the tracks are Friulmodel.
BTW, the white areas on the zimmerit are where the glue have not flown evenly..luckily there are no air bubbles or raised zones...when painted they won't be noticed anymore!

The clamps for the tools are from extratech, PE by Lion Roar (not really outstanding...I'm going to use only few parts...).

The figure is a verlinden one with a Royal Model head (I believe that the figure, even if sold as 1:35, is an old 54mm one re-casted, but I liked the pose)

Please, any information about the Tiger II I would like to represent, will be realy welcome!

Thanks,

Luca
