Hey Guys,
since my III J is on hold and I´m still waiting for some parts for my competition kit, I started Tristar´s 38(t) Ausf. G which my good friend (and new member here) Peters sold me last Saturday.
The kit itself is a gem. The details are extraordinary and the fit so far very good (while I still needed some Mr.Surfacer here and there).
One has to be careful putting all the parts of the lower hull, the upper hull and the parts for the turret together as the fit is a bit tricky but with some patience and care it´s not that hard.
The kit is pretty much a weekender as the build took me only two days to come to the point of painting it.
This one again was built ootb, with only a DML periscope on the turret as the Tristar part was not cast as nice as the part from Dragon.
I decided to use some Friul tracks I had laying around here for my DML Flakpanzer 38(t).
The tracks only fit to Tristar with a trick. I used a punched plastic card disk inbetween the two halves of the sprocket wheel. There´s a gap now inbetween the ribs on the sprockets, but this won´t be seen when you don´t know it. I can live with it and the Friuls look better than the Tristar tracks. One could use the Friul sprockets which are part of the pack, but they were warped like hell and the Tristar parts just look better. Another issue for some guys might be that the Friul tracks a bit bigger than either the DML or Tristar tracks, but this doesn´t bother me either.
Last item I used was another Modellbauwelt Bliestal Antenna.
Dont know if I will start with paint or rather wait until I finished the build of the kit for the competition. To be honest, I would love to start painting this right away

.
Here are the pics:

The tools are just glued on with white glue for the pics and will be removed for painting.
The spare tracks on the front come from DML as the Friul tracks are too massive to fit in there.

I will use these two guys for the tank.
Both come from Alpine and have been painted one year ago (the eyes of the commander could need some more work I guess).
Hope you like it!
Markus
P.S. Thanks again Peter!
