Hi folks,
I picked up the Tristar Pz IV/D last fall real cheap, and decided I would build it. And I kind of enjoyed the build. The kit is not without its challenges, but overall it builds into a very nice panzer, with lots of detail. All the major construction work was finishe before xmas, and after struggling with kit tracks I gave them up and orderer Modelkasten SK-57 instead. They are 38cm tracks, but I won't notice the difference between those and the 36cm in the kit
Once built, I shot the entire vehicle with Xtracrylics Panzer Gray:
As you can see, I was still fiddling with the kit tracks at that stage.
Now, I've had the model sitting idly for a while, but picked it up again some 10 days ago to try to get on with weathering. I have in mind to follow Adam Wilder's weathering tutorial over at Missing Lynx, as I am really a novice to weathering.
So, here's the tank after shadowing of the vehicle (ie. painting with a lighter shade of the base colour), and after the first wash on the turret:
And that's about as far as I've gotten. I'll proceed when I get around to get some ingredients required by the weathering tutorial.
Thanks for watching
Arild
