Well, this is not a recent build at all, in fact I did this one in 1995.
I have hung on to it because it was my first small base display [and the oldest one that I still have in my cabinet] and this one determined my base size for all my tanks that have followed. Before this I always did large dio's but was getting frustrated because I liked putting the tank in a scene but was getting bogged down on 1 subject for too long and not getting anywhere near the other kits. At the rate I was going I was only going to get about 10 - 15 tanks built over a whole lifetime!
A picture of the 221 in the Ardennes in 'LAST of the PANZERS caught my eye and this is what started me off except that I saw another photo of one with large white numbers and thought that they looked cool as well. I did not know the history surrounding the 'steelers' at this stage so it is not an accurate depiction against an actual tank but rather a generic look at a typical Ardennes knockout.

The kit is a Tamiya Steel Wheeled G that came out in the early 90's. It got PE rear deck screens and Tamiya individual link track. Other scratch built changes were added such as the front guard mounts , track pins and spare track holding pin chains. Some other bits here and there but no brass sets added or anything to high tech.
