Now this is a project I ditched for some reason. Perhaps PE tracks were more challenging than I hoped for. Or maybe gun itself is a bit challenging. I'll try to finish this soon as it will build a nice model.
I used Eastern Express T-34 instead of Revell first intended. EE is more suitable with earlier round mud guards. Model is quite nice thou some details are a bit softer than in Revell. I was tempted to use Part PE for this but decided to use in another project. EE tracks were so bad that I've tried Part PE tracks. Those are easy to glue together but a bit hard to bend into right positions.
Armo conversion is quite straight forward with PE and resin bits. Turret is folded from one PE piece which glued together. Maybe soldering would have been a better solution but my skills aren't that good. Armo set is nice but instructions leave a lot to desire as no part location are told, only pics of a finished model. Especially Flakvireling is difficult to build as you can't tell from pics or even from parts what goes where. I've been using Tamiya Wirbelwind as reference
I will paint turret interior and gun separate. Gun barrels have to glue in place last or I won't be able to put things together
Any suggestions to paint scheme are welcome as well as any comments.
More to this later,
Niko
