I haven';t been much around last couple of weeks due to general business. Currently to make a bit of extra money I am working extra as a human alarm system> it is a temporary job with quite good pay so I grab what I can. Fun thing is... A full night is 9 hours. every half an hour I have to walk a little round listening and when all is not well i have to call... That and keeping awake. To keep myself occupied I am modelling a bit. And it is amazing what progress you make when you can sit behind something for 9 hours. I have worked 14 nights now and finished 13 models ready for paint.
And the next vehicle is one of those. It all started when I found this picture online
And I decided t take it up. So I bought a DML SdKfz 253 and started scratching and building. I also did some work on the interior since there is no Antenna visible in the original picture I guessed they would have taken the whole radio setup out and built stuff inside usefull for on site repair.
I don't have any information on the vehicle itself other then the picture but I think it is used by a repair unit for repair on smaller vehicles like Kubels and light to possible medium trucks. I did some measuring from the picture and the cranetop seems to be around 3,60meters high and not suitable for too heavy loads which rules out tank engines in my opinion. Also the chain hoist is probably not suitable for too heavy loads either. The work on the interior is totally based on my fantasy of what I think a vehicle like this would have carried around.
