T-34-85 Russan Troublemaker

Although I just started my StuG III build, I could not resist starting work on this little baby when it arrived by mail a few days ago. This is my first Russian one, and till now I haven’t decided which version I’m going for. The bedspring armor is looking fantastic, but a two-tone camo would also look great on this one.

The kit has some PE parts and a metal barrel. Sadly some of the new parts have serious fit issues.

Here we go:

I worked on the wheels and started to cut away parts of the fenders:

Killed the complete fender on one side of the tank:

I have installed the first PE parts. You have to cut away a few millimeters in order to close the engine hatch without troubles:

Now the hatch fits perfectly. These holes have to be closed as they can be seen if you use the PE parts for the spare fuel tanks:

I heated some plastic material and pressed it into the holes. Fast and easy...

And after removing the excess material:

Sadly the PE grills for the engine deck are to big, therefore I will use the plastic ones:

More to come,
Cheers
Manuel
