this is my first post on my vBench on here.
It is devoted to Notger Schlegtendal and Tom Cockle who helped me alot during the inital research phase. Especially when it comes to the upcoming paintjob.

The Pz. IV F2 is the Dragon Smart kit #6360 I bought on the EME show this year in Heiden. There I met Notger the first time and we had a great time discussing the kit. He gave me some good hints regarding the optional parts to do an africa Pz.IV. Tom Cockle and Notger were both technical adviseres to this and other Dragon Pz.IV kits. Sometimes our world is so tiny...

All parts that need to be painted are laid out
First all rubber parts were painted with a mix of Black and Flesh color from the Tamiya range.
An appropriate Wheel mask from Quick Wheel came in handy.
Painted with Model Master Africa Brown highlighted with 25% Interior Buff.
A circle template was used for the support rollers.
After removing the wheels from the wheel mask. A very time saving way of painting these!
Base painting was done with the same mix as was used for the road wheels.
Afterwards the turret was partly masked and the barrel was painted a dark grey color to represent the heat resistant primer, sealed with a coat
of Tamiya Semi Gloss.
After 10 minutes two light layers of hairspray were applied.
Then a few light oversprays with Tamiya Buff thinned with the "softer" Acrylic thinner were sprayed over.
With warm water and a stiff brush the top coat was chipped of to show the dark grey again.
The slightly darker Buff color was used to represent heat on the gun barrel. The effects achieved within minutes is awesome.
The darker Stone grey camouflage color was airbrushed thinned with White Spirit from Winsor and Newton to achieve a finer gradation.
The HS technique was also used for one of the fuel cans and the track tensioner tool.
With as many as 13 different colors mixed together from the Tamiya range, all the tarps were painted using an airbrush.
A dark metallic grey color was mixed for the metal parts with the colors shown above.
Two light coats of Tamiya´s semigloss were used to seal the whole paintjob.
On a good coat of Tamiya gloss onto the needed areas, the kit´s decals were applied using warm water and DACO Decal softener.
