With my 1/35th Initial on hold for the moment and the arrival of some of Tamiya later 1/48th releases. I though about doing a project that I had in my head for a while. Inspiration came from some E-b pics.
I'm aming for a Tiger as it appeared during the august-september 1942 period, so just after arriving at Mga on the Leningrad - Ladoga front.
Here are some shots of the mods I did to turn the "africa" Tiger into a true Initial (no 32529 Tiger I Africa-corps).

I remove all molded on tools and S-Minen dischargers brackets. Also cut a vent slit in engine hatch, remove the flippy's on engine hatch. The large grey spot is the result of some careless sanding.

At the front I sanded down the hull sides to match the profile of an Initial and cut a notch in it. Also removed the two hinged toggle bolts from the front plate. Those are AFV indie links.

Holes filled on the backplate.
Some mock-up shot shots. At this stage not all is glued jet, there is still some fine tuning on some parts to do before that. I still have to make weld lines on the turret roof.
