Folks,
I like to build 1/72 scale armor when I get bogged down by complex assemblies or other unpleasantries in the larger scales. I also like to take one or two 1/72 kits with me when I'm up in the field and have to spend evenings in a hotel room in some podunk town with no place to go and nothing to do.
If you've never worked on a 1/72 kit, check out some of the new releases by Dragon. The level of detail is pretty amazing for their tiny size. They cost next to nothing in the States, and they're small enough to brush paint usually.
I've been working on this little Jagdtiger when I was in a hotel last week. I glued and brush painted it in two evenings. I began weathering when I got home on the weekend.
Currently it has a simple wash and filter. It will get a flat coat when the oils dry. Then some streaking and final detail painting and I'll have a nice little Jagdtiger added to my collection (I wish I could say the same of its older brother which has been sitting half-finished in a box somewhere for the last four or five years).
Stay tuned for a few more photos as I expect to be done tomorrow evening.
Give one of these kits a try if you're in a modeling slump. They're really fun and look impressive OOB
