Here is a little "how-to" on making a walnut wood diorama base and fabricate (in miniature) a section of a Board track banked race way.

My "exotic" lumber purchase today. Wood types include: Walnut, Poplar, Cedar & Spruce.
The Walnut will be used for the diorama base. Poplar, Cedar, & Spruce with be cut in 1/9th scale lumber for the banked track section.

AS you can see Walnut is not cheep!


On to the "wood-shop" and get to wood cutting, planing, mitering & gluing.
