For my first vBench I'd like to post something I started a little while back.

All details were scratch made from brass sheet, copper wire and strips, tin sheet, and some leftover PE parts from other builds. I am building the German captured version as shown on the box. I added some small "field modifications" to it like the rear stowage basket and convoy light (typical items one might find on a captured & repurposed German vehicle).

I wanted the fenders to indicate damage, so I made them from K&S brass sheet and soldered everything together. Then I took some pliers to them and bent them up a little.

The stowage rack on the back was soldered brass strips. Very simple! The asbestos wrapping on the exhaust pipes was made from tissue soaked in diluted white glue and carefully ripped apart with a dental pick.

Here it is with the basecoat and whitewash:

Basecoat was XF-26 Deep Green. The green was tinted with Buff and panel highlights were sprayed with that mixture. The figure is for photography purposes - I will not be using that figure in the finished peice. I will be making a semi-custom figure for this one.

Whitewash was randomly sprayed on using XF-2 Flat white. After this, the first round of paint chipping was done by sponging on the basecoat and XF-27 Black Green. Decals were applied at this stage. Next a light misting of white over the entire model to fade the chippings. Second round of paint chips were done in the same manner as before, only some were applied with a brush. The white streaks were made with Vallejo "off-white" highly diluted with tap water.
