Hi everyone,
I'm a long-time lurker on these forums and thought that on the occasion of me actually finishing a project that it was finally time to contribute something!
Just a little background, I had this old clunker sitting on the shelf, with a bad paint job on a poor build of a not so great (by today's standards) kit. Then one day I had an dea for a diorama, saw some dragon gen2 figures that I liked and decided that with a little love I could make that old panther work...
I didn't want to use any aftermarket (didn't make sense for my skill level at the time) so I just went back filled holes, added some very minor details and began repainting. No Zimm. I debated for a few days but decided not to to keep with the oob theme and because I wanted to get right into the painting since that is what this project is really all about.
Enough words for now here are the pics of the process from start to (nearly) finish....
....So that is it, well kinda. This cat is eventually going into a diorama and will represent an abandoned vehicle in an anonymous east front location. Once in the dio it will be 'snow swept'
Overall I'm pretty happy. This is the first project, other than 2 figures, that I have completed since I was a kid...15 years!! And while it certainly doesn't show the finesse of much of the work here, I do feel that I got the atmospheric and emotional feel of a cold, abandoned machine...
As I'm a noob I am more than happy to here all comments and critiques, just remember that this was meant to be a strict oob!! Abd I'm more than happy to answer any questions...
cheers!
