Here's a major undertaking that I finally dove into once the 2008 AMPS Show was over. The M31B1 is the Tank Recovery Vehicle based on the welded hull, diesel engined M3A3 Lee tank. Since no kit exists, I cobbled together various parts (Academy M3 upper hull, DML M4A2 lower hull, Cal35 engine deck) with lots of scratchbuilding, eventually mating the Legends M31 TRV conversions set. Since these photos were taken, I've built the sand shields. I'm replicating "Big Sad Sack" which is in the opening page of S Zaloga's "US Armored Funnies of the ETO"
