It seems like forever since I've posted new work here. Well, here's a project that I've been working on to be included in a chapter for Perscopio Publications upcoming release.
The inspiration for this project came from this photograph:
The first order of business was to souce the Dozer. The perfect example was from Resicast, but unfortunately it is out of production. However, I contacted Graham directly and he was able to find one in his stock which he sent to me.
Here are a few shots of the Cat. The construction is busy and at times can be a little challenging. The most difficult aspect, to be sure, were the tracks. They are length + individual links and I came to find that the distance between the drive and idler wheels was a little too distant. I remedied this by moving the drive forward a few mm's.
I next turned my attention to the Panzer IV & wreckage. I'm using the Tamiya J, plus Aber turret skirts and turret stowage bin, and Lionroars fenders.
First I built it.....
Then I wrecked it....
....and finally a little bit of an idea of how it will come together. I'm still messing around with the figures, in fact, I have a set of Prieser fellows on the way that may be included in addition/instead.
Next steps will be the fun parts...putting it all together and painting.
