Hi all it's been quite some time since I last posted here so I thought I should start back up again. I plan on building the older Dragon Jagdtiger that I bought at a local model show, I paid $20 or so. I had planned on doing some interior work and removing the roof plate on this, but after seeing the gun breech I decided not to take the roof off and just go with the kit parts.
I painted the interior a dark umber color using hull red and black since the tank is to be burnt out. The only thing you can see inside the tank is some of the gun, so I decided to paint that a bit.
I gave the gun a dark/thick oil wash then applied rust powder to the still wet oils and used a hair dryer to speed up the drying.
Next came a heavy coat of hair spray and some salt.
The hair dryer once again to dry the spray and secure the salt.
I then applied a couple of light coats of Tamiya white with a drop of buff. Again the hair dryer to speed things up.
The salt and HS removed revieling the underlying rust.
Another dark wash applied and dryed with the you know what.
After applying a bit of rust powder and black pastel chalk powder this is how the gun looks. I'll leave at is since most of it will not be seen.
The upper and lower hull was dry fitted and then glued together.
I started adding some torch cuts to the upper hull and some small caliber pock mocks and more will follow. I'll try to keep this updated as it progresses.
