Now, I know this isn't a build log, but I thought some of you might find it useful as a reference source. Perhaps, after it has slipped off the front page the webmaster and/or moderators might move it to somewhere more appropriate, or if it is considered useful enough make it a sticky?
Ok, here goes. This series of photographs is the result of a visit to the Victory Show at Cosby in Leicestershire at the end of the summer. This is a two day event for re-enactors who actually spend most of the week there preparing their encampments etc., and rehearsing for the set piece battle staged once each day of the actual show.
This was my first visit to any event like this and I was fascinated. Took at least a couple of hundred photo's, some of which I thought might be useful as references to both the armour and figure modellers out there. I'll post a selection now but there are more should there be enough interest. I will give captions for each one and if any of you experts out there spot a mistake please feel free to correct me. Anyway, that's enough of an explanation, on with the show as they say.............
Germans at rest.
StuG
German position.
Motorcycle and drainpipe combination.
Universal Carrier.
Cosby or Caen?
The colour version.
The next series of images are of Leicesters at rest or preparing for the battle.
Would you argue with this man? Sniper, Leicesters, North West Europe.
The Americans were there too with armour, as well as the German opposition. I have some interesting shots of the battle as well.
More to come later unless the webmaster or membership do not approve.
