Hello Members.
While I work out the dio base for my King Tiger, I thought I'd start an SBS with my next project, a Stug III.
I've wanted to do this Stug since Sam foolishly forwarded on the photos saying he was going to build it. I think it's got so many interesting features, and possibilities that I'm surprised nobody's done it yet.
The two donor kits are the Tamiya Panzer III L, for the hull and the new DML Stug III for the superstructure. I've also ruined an old DML Stug III Late as I ratted the idlers out of it. I'm using the Verlinden interior as I want to model it as per the photos with the worn out old Russian lounging on it and unfortunately DML don't supply the transmission in the kit.
To add even more variation I'm going with a mix of early and late track, hollow and solid guide teeth thrown in together, as well a Model Kasten drive sprocket with the internal hub detail showing.
Sheeds.
