panzer iv engine deck question

well i'll try and explain ,to start with i'm converting the DML Pz IV ausf E 3in1 to a Brummbar, now all the pictures i have of Brummbars on the E chassi don't seem to have this small round lid ,plate type thing in the top left front corner of the engine plate as shown on THE DML kit was this part of or something to do with the DKW motor for traversing the turret ????? i hope i explained it ,,,i'm confuzed
