Hello all.
Here is what I just started.
Tamiya’s King Tiger Production Turret (kit # 35164)
Verlinden’s King Tiger Engine Compartment (kit # 1045)
Cavalier’s Zimmerit for King Tiger ( 0107)
Any comments, suggestions, hints or tips, (especially about the engine) are welcome and appreciated.
First step, clean the road wheels, idler and drive sprocket.
Suspension arms.
Next I decided to do the rear plate.
The cavalier resin had some bubbles in some of the details, too hart to fix so I decided to remove them and keep the original detail from the kit.
Unfortunately, the detail on the resin and the kit do not align, so I had to remove the detail from the kit. To keep the thickness of the detail I cut around them instead of slicing them off. After separating them and cleaning them here are some of them.
I glued a piece of plasticard behind the remaining holes, and filled them with plastic.
A little putty leveled the surface off, it doesn’t need to be perfectly level since it will be covered with zimmerit.
Well, so far that's it. I'll keep posting as I go along.
As I said before, any input is welcome.
