Hello again, everyone. Switching gears from my recent British builds I'm back to the Dark Side for this one. Beginning with the Tamiya Panzer IV...(yep, 1/48th)....I am also going to be using the Hauler StuG IV conversion.
...I hope to end-up with this.....
A big thanks to Saul for helping me find the inspiration and references!
Let's begin....the wheels.
Work will soon move to the rear assembly so I decided to add a little texture to the muffler with MR.Surfacer, with Hauler providing PE replacement straps.
Here is a comparison between the upper hulls of the Tamiya Pz IV (tan) and the new Hauler StuG (grey)....really nice stuff.
Ok...now the fun begins. The forward hull from Hauler must be mated with the Tamiya engine deck.
I intentionally cut the deck with a little excess, then sanded back to the proper length. I also needed to fill the locking notch from the Pz.4 turret with a little plastic stock.
Sanded to length and ready to mate.
There's a start, more to follow soon.
Thanks,
Rick
