I've had this project in my head for many years. It involves a Sturmtiger and some children playing around it. I haven't had the ability nor the guts to start such a diorama. What more I haven't found any 1:35 kids so basically for a long time it was just beyond reach.
Watching Per Olav Lund's blogs I realised there must be some model-kids around and he helped me locate a few 54mm figures from Andrea. They arrived safe and sound from Historex 3 days after ordering them. Top service!.
So far I've just done some work on the Sturmtiger
It's not going to be very accurate (not really possible with the Italeri kit I'm told) but it's going to do the job in this diorama. My thought was that the engine was blown up by the crew and the scene would be set in summer/autumn 1945.
Historically it may not be correct, for all I know maybe all Sturmtigers were accounted for, but for me the story is more important than authenticity. In this case.
I thought I'd set the scene in a schoolyard in either the Ardennes or Reichwald area.
These pics serve as inspiration. They're "sourced" from around the web. Unfortunately I haven't kept track of where they came from.

What you see of the interior. I've rusted and chipped and done what I could to make it "worn out".
I had lost one of the Tiger side panels so had to canibalize an old Italeri tiger. That also meant I had to make new zimmerit. While I don't think Italeris zimmerit is very good I thought it was quite okay to do new one since I planned to depict the tank burnt out with chipped zimm.
