Hi all
Well, as just described in my Nashorn update, there are reasons why the Nashorn is in parc fermé: one significant reason is a pile of super references, which I received from my modelling friend in the continental part of Denmark. A number of these focused on the Tiger, and as I happend to have a Dragon 1:35 Tiger - the much heralded kit released in 2006 - lying in wait on my shelf with kits still to be built, I started it up.
It is a nice kit with many details. I came across
www.tiger1.info which has an abundance of corrections to many Tiger 1 kits, including the Dragon one(s). There are also some fit issues, but more on this later, as hopefully progress will come...

On the hull the suspension is in place, and it is a nice touch that the torsion bars are actually working. Radiators are installed and the next step will be painting the interior. The engine is from the Tamiya "German tank engine maintenance crew set".
Now, this is a late Tiger, and as I understand it, ALL the late Tigers had Zimmerit applied to them. Hence I did buy an appropriate AM-set, namely the Eduard PE Zimmerit set. Well, having dry-fitted it, my enthusiasm, however, started to dwindle. As I also bought some Milliput a few years back, I tried the DIY-Zimmerit version. So far I made the mantlet and the front hull armour. Particularly the mantlet with all the small angled surfaces was a challenge.
See pictures. All comments are welcomed. Oh, by the way: this is my first DIY-Zimmerit ever. Be gentle...
All the best,
Jochen
