OK,
Being an absolute sucker for tank killers and
assault guns I HAD to have this kit. Opening the
box reveled a beautifully molded kit and looked
to be a very quick build "Tamyia style". But...
The suspension is not a pleasant fit, the
manlet needs a little work to get the shape right
and the biggest bummer, no side skirts or mounting
brackets for them. Oh, and Dragon, PLEASE fix
you molding process with regard to your tracks, they
SUCK!!! OK, so we get nice DS 100 material, but these tracks
suffer from the same problem as the T-34 in that they
are deformed from being kicked from the mold before
proper cooling. Though not as bad as the T-34 these are still
not right and you can see this in the photos.
Good part, separate molded tools (for the most part)
and WAY above the Revell kit.
So the pics show upper and lower hull and borrowed
parts from Revell StuG IV (tan). Big thanks to Tim
Treadway for the Revell StuG! I've corrected the manlet as well
in these pics.
And the last pick is a quick dry fit of the overall assembly, should
be primed tonight. So far I love this kit despite the short comings
I mentioned. I still have a little basic assembly and then I have
to make the canvas cover that goes between the fighting
compartment and the gun manlet.
Cheers,
Donovan
