Look what landed on my bench…
I’ll build it “almost” OOB with a little help from my friend “Eduard”
So, lets begin…
First, I built the hull (the bottom and the sides) and attached the suspension arms. The parts went together without any problem. The three holes in the sidewall have to be filled with putty, as they will be visible from the outside.
One thing I replaced were the floor ammo holders. The plastic pieces didn’t fit so I replaced them with new ones made from brass tubing. I also sanded the rear edge a little so the rear wall has a better fit.
At this point I started replacing some details for the ones from Eduard; here you can see the rack and faceplates for the radios.
Here I was dry fitting the floor and the rear wall and also glued the drivers seat. There is a gap in the front of the chassis where it meets the upper hull so I glued a strip of .020 styrene to help fill it.

Next the transmission was assembled…
…and painted.
Here the front interior and the drivers seat has been painted and everything is in place just to see how it looks.

(What I would like to know is how the driver shifted gears with the transmission so far away from him.)
Until next time.
