I do that quite often if I like the P.E. part. More often than not now days I use the P.E. parts as guides to make replacement parts out of sheet plastic. To me it seems that most P.E. parts are just too 2 dimentional and either too thin or shaped wrong. Some of the P.E. coming out today though is quite nice.
