Well here is my newest installment, just finish Hobby Boss’s ZLC-2000 and I have to say this kit was a real gem to build. The kit built was built almost out of the box; the only thing I replaced was the kit smoke grenade launchers with metal ones from Voyager. I only had one fit issue around the front of the bow when mating the two halve together. However, that was an easy fix with some putty and sanding. I had to replace a few welds around the turret as the sprue gates fell right onto the welds, for this, I used Archer surface detail. My only real complaint about the kit is the vinyl tracks, I’m not a big fan of these kind of tracks as the only paint I use is acrylic paint and this kind of paint didn’t want to stick the tracks all that much. Next time I will use some enamel primer from a rattle can before painting. For the paint, I used a mixture of Vallejo and Tamiya for the base coat and the usual Mig filters, washes, and pigments. I wanted to keep the weather down as these a new vehicle and do not see the rigors of combat “YET”. I wanted the tank to have a dusty look to it and the chips to the minimal, as I do not know the quality of Chinese paint and if it is anything like our CARC paint; then there would not be a whole lot of chipping going on. Other than that, another model done and added to my collection, I cannot wait to build my next one from Hobby Boss and I highly recommend this little beauty to everyone.
