Hello!
I'm pleased to announce you that I finished my exams and I will degree on 15-16 November!
So today is a day of TOTAL RELAX and DOING ANYTHING USEFUL (except going to the bank to pay the taxes to take part to the degree session, for which I have to take everything to the University within Wednesday).
Subject of this build is the new DML Tiger I, which I managed to find here in Rome after a long search. A collection is not complete with a Tiger, so I just settled for finding it!
I won't bore you introducing the model and showing you photos of the sprues as this one has been talked about for a lot of time, so I'll just show you the building and (later) painting phases.
I still have to finish the Panzer IV (I need to correct a painting mistake on the turret and paint and add the tools, but it son't take much) and to paint the Spae. Pz. 2 Luchs, but I would like use acrylics and my new Spanish-made airbrush for this purpose, so I decided to start building this model.
I was worried about some fitting problems on the front part of the hull, so I just took some time to see how the parts dry-fitted.
The front part of the lower hull is slightly warped inside, but it's not a problem, just a "tight fit", as defined by Vinnie Branigan, and it fits perfectly!
I didn't take photos, but I'll do that later.
Camo scheme? I still have to decide, but I think I'll go for a bi-tonal one, maybe the one shown on the box.
Zimmerit? That's the real dilemma for any first timer! I would like to order the Lion Roar zimmerit tool, Lucky Model sells it for just €11, but I don't know if they accept payment with my Visa Electron card, I sent them lot's of e-mails but never got an answer... I think someone told me they do (it was here) but I would like to be sure...
Anyway, it will come later.
I think I will also add the Tamiya engine included in the field maintenance set, if I manage to get one.
This afternoon I will start cleaning the suspension arms and will attach them to the lower hulll... the details are visible, so I might think to add some interior too!
Photos will follow!
