Hi all,
In between all that great models shown here, I did some work on DML's M4A3E8 'Thunderbolt VII' kit. All in all, a good kit which comes together nicely. The suspension is bit fiddly, and the first thing to leave off are the suspension springs.

... they will make it VERY hard to assemble it. Besides, a working suspension can be fun, but not with these HVSS stations.
Overal detail is good, with the shape of the turret being very well captured. There's a choice of barrels, though I mounted an armorscale M1A2 76mm barrel. The hull has the raised weld seams and also good detail. Too bad though DML still use the older Italeri tools, even if they're a bit tweaked.
To me, that sprue is the weakes point of the DML Shermans. The tools are just too spindly looking and not convincing in most kits. I ignored them here, but the Sherman Vc, M4A1 75mm and earlier kits need their tools replaced. The newer, Tarawa and Mk III kits are far better.
But, for now, on with the photos:
Build has been completed here. In fact, these photographs are quite old, and the project is in the finishing stages already.
Best, MartinD
