Well guys its time to start something new! This time I’m in the mood for some wheels so I’m going with this; The Italeri Opel Radio Truck.
Of course, since the back of the truck comes empty (what kind of radio truck is that?) I recruited our friend Verlinden with its radio truck interior set to put things back to normal. Add to that some wheels from Azimut and an eduard set and we can bring this truck up to date.
First thing to do was the chassis, so here it is with suspension, fuel tank, engine and tow pintle.
Next the wheels. As Azimut doesn’t cast them with holes is up to you to make them. I used the original plastic wheel from the kit as a template and drilled a hole in each being careful not to pass it thru.
Here are the drilled wheels.
When I tried the wheels in the axles I found that they sit too close to the chassis so using my home made puncher I cut two disk of styrene for each wheel to separate them from it.
Then I drilled the hole again. Here are the spacers in place.
And here is how the chassis looks with the wheels attached. They aren't glued yet.
Thank for your interest and see you soon.
