I have always wanted to do this short tracked Tiger II, belonging to Horst Kronke, after seeing it on the cover of Lukas Friedli's marvellous book "Die Panzer-Instandsetzung der Wehrmacht". The shot is taken when "124" was undergoing transmission repairs at a maintenance facility in Bartenstein, Germany Nov 44.
I used DML's Bulge King Tiger kit, with a Verlinden interior. I still have an engine to go in, from the same manufacturer. I used apoxie sculpt for the zimmerit, for the first time, and found it easier than Tamiya putty. Finding reference for what the hull looks like when the drives are removed was difficult, but Andrew & Henrik came to the rescue as did Sam with the Armorscale barrel. Thanks fellas.
Sheeds.
