Tiger I Late, #213, sPzAbt 509

Hi Everyone,

after being extremely busy at work in the last 4-5 Months, it looks as if I may get some bench time during the summer months I want to take a pause from my long going sdkfz 250/7 build. So after consolidating my ever growing stash, it's time for a.... Tiger

I will use the DML 6253, Tiger I Late Production kit. I am building Tiger #213 of sPzAbt 509 fighting in Novoselki, Belarus on the 23rd of June 1944. The 509 received a full batch of brand new Tigers end of May 1944 and were attached to Army Group Centre when the Soviets launched Operation Bagration. #213 was commanded by Oblt. Richard Wagner.

Apart from DML 6253, I am using AFV Clubs workable tiger tracks:


And Part's PE set for the Tiger Late:


So here we go, starting with the hull and the workable suspension:




And then assembling and cleaning the road wheels:



Next thing, the tracks. I knew from PMMS that they need some cleanup, but that was a bit of an understatement. Flash and pin marks on every link




At least it will keep me busy for a while
