Thumbs up My first tank, ever...Tiger 1 Early Production Tamiya 1/48

Well, this is my first armor model. I'm not new to modeling. I've been building airplanes for the past 3 years or so and I got the urge to build a few targets, err tanks.

Wow, what a refreshing change. I almost had the whole thing put together in one afternoon.





Not to exciting but it sure looks cool! As you can see I didn't add the tracks. The are in sections not individual links so I hope I can pull off weathering them and adding them at the final step.

Question: In my AC builds I usually prime with mr surfacer 1200. Then I typically preshade. I've noticed many of you will prime with black paint. I'm thinking of doing that because the whole point of this build is to try something new. Any suggestions?
