Bare Metal

So I was wondering, with all the different styles and techniques, which color or method do you think best depicts bare metal in extreme use? I work in a shop and my lift arms are constantly exposed to repeated use. As a result the paint is extremely worn in these areas and rust never has a chance to start. The metal has over time been weathered to the point where most of it is a darker metallic color. Only a very small amount of "steel" color can actually be seen. Even when I attempt to "clean" the areas with a vast array of cleaners it only slightly lightens. So, back to my question... Which color/method do you prefer to use, and why.

-I have experimented with titanium metallizer and have had close to good results. Still trying to perfect it though.

P.S. Tomorrow at work I am gonna snap some photos of my lift so you can better get an idea what the heck I am talking about.
