I started this kit about 2 weeks ago and I have, as you can see, been making several modifiacations to the old Tamiya kit. At times I take older kits and try and see what I can do to them. basically trying to improve my detailing tecniques. There are no aftermarket pieces here that were bought for this kit. All extra detail pieces are either scratch built or taken from the spares box to include P.E. Here are some pics of before and after priming. There may be details in the after primed version that are not in the before primed as I added them after I took the initial pics. Also I will not be using the kit tracks. I have a set of L to L that I had in the spares box from an older Dragon T-34/85 kit that fit the bill perfectly (they are 500mm wide tracks)....
I am debating wether or not I should redue the casting seam on the turret. What do you think? One other thing with the turret. The roof part behind the hatch, was this cast with the rest of the turret or was it a plate that was welding in? I am wondering if I need to make some weld beads there or if I should blind it in with the rest of the cast features. All CC welcome.
