Well I am a long time lurker and since it takes me forever to finish anything I think this may be a good motivation for me to do so....
A long time ago I found a nice picture of a Russian trench in the wooded area... with a maxim and a dead body...
Since I suck at scuplting I decided to make a slight modification to the whole thing.
The main idea is to presend a simmilar scene with a few german soldiers storming through the position...
and this is how I started..
First I made a frame with styrofoam and plastic shell
Then I used a modeling clay to form the structure of terrain
Next I used some pebbles and natural material from my "terrain box" and simply sprinkled if over the terrain coated with white glue
I attached the roots to form trees and shrubbs...
Once it thurrily dried I airbrushed the base color and then gradually dry brushed the lighter colors over it.
Next I added dried herbs and left it to dry out over the night...
This is a work in progress and I would appreciate any comments and critiques on how to improve...
