This is a project I'm already working on for a while but I thought I post it here also. there are no recent progress shots but I made a lot of pics during construction of it all.
So I will post pretty much all the pics I made so far of this project. For info This project was started for a campaign/groupbuilt on another forum but due to business and me screwing up the paintjob on the figures the dio came to a temporarily standstill. I wanted to do an experiment in this dio to give it more a sense of action and movement. You will see what I mean. Basically the story of the dio is US troops that just crossed the Rhine are advincing into Germany and into the direction of Aachen. In one of the villages close to Aachen they meet resistance of German troops. the story plays in one of those little villages on a streetcorner next to a tavern or bierstube (cafe/bar).
Let me start well... with the start.
The vehicle in the diorama is a Horch IA which was built pretty much OOTB. I left it pretty much in Subassemblies for painting ease. The figures came from Dragons Allied Tankhunters which gives you a set of two normal GI's and two para's. I used the two normal Gi's. When I was toying around with the figures to create the best position for them I found out that the base I choose for it somehow was a bit to small... both figures initially were planned on the front of the vehicle peering over the fender. Then due to my own roughness I pushed out a frontdoor at the driverside. This gave me a complete new angle of approach and I decided to have the Bazooka man shooting the bazooka through the vehicle using the Horch as his cover. The loader is peering over the fender and the front of the vehicle to the target.
So far update 1 of this project
