Hi all...
Latest project is this Dragon 1:35 Marder III. It is a nice kit with a lot of extra stuff and many optional parts. I did still go for a couple of AM-items: Eduard Marder III fenders along with the Eduard Marder III PE-set as well as an Aber barrel.
As far as I understand, this model was in production in 1943 till early 1944 and used until the end of the war. I'll go for a 1944 Normandy deployment.
Tim - aka WillysJeep - kindly provided a wealth of information on the interior, particularly on the engine and engine bay. This calls for open hatches...
Progress so far is a floor added to the driver's compartment (spares from an old PE-set) and a little light wiring and tubing to add to the coming open driver's hatch. I plan to add similar stuff to the engine.
Hull interior is rust red in the engine compartment and ivory in the driver's ditto with the larger components such as transmission, radiator and fuel tanks green grey. All colours are Vallejo and so far everything is airbrushed.
I did have some problems (or more politically correct management BS: challenges) trying to figure out what colours to use for the interior: what is ivory; when did they stop applying it; was ivory used across the interior where the crew was or only partially; what is green-grey; was it used for all larger components or only some... At the end of the day I settled for this combo...
Should anyone have the authoritative German WW-II AFV interior paint guide, I'm all ears and eyes...
best
J
