Hiya. Since my Panzers II are in the twilight zone, I decided to let them both rest for a while and go back to this StuG I started working on about a year ago.
This is the Dragon kit from the box. Even if Sergiusz's StuG was of great inspiration you won't see any added part on this kit. Wait for the next one.
For the past 20 years I had in mind to build this one :
Unfortunately I noticed it had some Schürzen brackets on so as I had decided to build it 100% from the box it looked like an obstacle but I soon realized that one other tank from the same unit (StuG Br 742, July 43, Finland) didn't have these brackets on so it was a "GO".
The first steps :
First coat of paint :
First steps in muddying (is it a word ?)
First "chipping" and "mapping" (first time ever I try this) :
Then the last steps in building the kit :
Everything that has to be glued on is glued on ... or so it seems.
I'll let it rest for a while and I'll work on the weathering of this Stug when I'm back from holidays. The "oxide red" seems much more obvious on the pics than it is "in real life" I guess I'll have to tone that down, what do you think ?
And of course if you notice any mistake please let me know (the towing cable is a mistake but I'm aware of it so ...)
