Because you can never have too many T-34s on display at any given time, I present to you Dragon's T-34/85 w/bedspring armor premium edition release. The model is based on one of the older DML /85s but features many newly cast parts and two large sheets of photo-etch including the bedspring armor (not actually bed-springs, but shields manufactured by the Soviets).
I won't be using the bedsprings, so if anybody wants them I'll be happy to trade for something. I don't know what, but if you've got something you want to get rid of, make me an offer by PM.
Moving right along to construction. I began by gluing the spider-web wheels, which I believe are a new molding, and preparing some of the hull. I cut out the engine mesh cover to prepare it for the PE parts and began working on the fenders. I removed one of the fenders, as most photos show one or both missing, and took off the hinged half of the other.
Dragon's instructions suggest replacing the square front fenders with the rounded ones supplied in the box, but based on the turret, this is a 1945 model and as far as I can tell, these usually carried square fenders (until they got torn off).
I'm not as excited by the T-34/85 as by the /76 models, and I've got cyberhobby's STZ on the way in the mail (woo!!!!!), but in the meantime I think I'll have a good time building this one.
