Hola Guys,
Here is my first sculpt since the move! It is a 1/35th scale WWII US Combat Medic. There are very few medics out there, and I haven't found one yet with the Medic Harness and the two larger bags so I decided to do one.
I've always had a great admiration for combat medics, it has be one of the toughest jobs in the military, to have to see your friends get shot up and then try to patch them up the best you can.
Anyways, here are the pictures. I couldn't find the gray primer anywhere so had to shoot it with Tamiya Yellow Sand, didn't work very well as you can see, the surface is very rough.
The large bags presented a bit of a problem, one of my pet peeves with figures are bags etc that are just glued on and just sit on the figure without being attached to anything. So to do this the bags had to be sculpted onto the main part of the figure so the straps could be sculpted onto the figure and attched to the bags, just like they are in real life. This created a different challange in making the molds as the bags created huge undercuts, but I think it worked out ok in the end.
I'll be painting this figure soon and he will be released shortly by Helo Miniatures.
A couple of shots of the main piece right out of the mold.
Primed version.
