hello gents ...
you remember when i mentioned to plan a diorama featuring two rock'a'billies? okay - i didn't have any time for my workbench for more than a week and i needed a break from that dog kit of the pak-infanterieschlepper ...
but that doesn't mean that i didn't spent time on thinking about that rock'a'billy diorama ...
the scenery will be as following: a king tiger ran out of fuel and ammunition during the last stage of ww2 and was abandoned by it's crew ... abandoned but not blewn up. in the haste of the final days of the war the kingtiger was forgotten and after armistice the villagers of the surrounding found it and ripped of as many goods as they could lay their hands on and managed to st... - aaaaaah to organize ... then the kingtiger was forgotten again and left ... some twelf to fourteen years later it was recovered by two rock'a'billies who immediately - on the next opportunity - called up their friends to assemble at this place to have a party with bbq and beer (no ... no blackjack, no hookers!) ... and this is what will be displayed ... the two with one of their harleys close to the kingtiger waiting for the arrival of their friends to rock on and have a party ... some good time ...
here we got the kingtiger - DML 6312 the porscheturm kingtiger premium edition - bought before my decision to focus on the early war period:
looks like a beautiful kit ... the box is loaded with parts ...
and following fuzzy logic i startet with the diobase this time ... stubborn as i am i wanted to make a base with two corners out of angle which multiplied the work i had to do ...
yesterday i went to a hardware store and bought some plywood, a slat, some wood putty in mahogany color and wood stain also in mahogany ...
this is my today's outcome after sawing, swearing, glueing, swearing, nailing, swearing and filling the gaps ... tomorrow i will sand the frame the first time and stain the frame ... this will be repeated two or three times:

front view:
top view:
this project will take some time as i still have to make my mind with groundwork, model building, find some civilians that match a rock'a'billy appearance and last but not least i will have to find a harley in 1/35 ... and workbenchtime of course ...
until next time
cheers,
laura
