Since I have not build many models, the start of a new project is a really special moment for me. I still have so much to learn- that’s because I like small kits, with good researched details and smaller part count (Don’t get me wrong, I really do like the new dragon kits, but at the moment I’m keen on building many kits- to improve my skills and test new techniques).
I could build my last project, the T-70, in about 2 weeks- that’s very fast for me- I’m a slow modeller.
My next project should be similar.
I always liked the design of the Luchs. The best kit’s on the market are the two ones from Tasca. They are quit expansive, but I got mine as a gift. I have the ICM kit as well, but they have nothing in common. The Tasca kit is a real beauty, excellent details and not too much parts- perfect for me.
My reference Material on the Luchs is little, Spielbergers Pz. I and II book, and some walkarounds on the net.
I have the excellent Aber Set for the ICM and Techmod version. Honestly I must say that the Tasca kit is so nice- I will only use a little amount of PE, clamps and clasp etc.
Also, I will use the workable tracks from Modelkasten- yummy with the kit’s working suspension.
Started yesterday night, here is what I’ve got:
Sorry for the dark pics, I was lazy…
The box:
Additional Parts:
The instructions. Clear drawings, Text mostly in japanise:
In my spare time I like to work on the individual track links, here the MK tracks wich will replace the kit’s rubber tracks.
The crispy moulded hull parts:
Finished also the wheels, they are not cemented to the idler arms- they will be hold in place with “polycaps”
The fit of the parts is excellent, only two small sink marks on the 2 small “damper?” elements:
Another view:
Here an example of the super fine details. The weld seems are ultra fine- hopefully my paintings skills will let this small details be visible.
That’s what I got so far,
I´ve you have any problems to understand my rusty English- just feel free to correct me J
Comment are highly appreciated,
Cheers Manuel
