Hi all.
I hope that this subject will be ok with you being posted here on Planet Armor. I consider this my "home", and being primarily an armor guy I really don't know where else to post this type of project.
Anyway, it is something very different for me to do, and hopefully you'll find it interesting.
I would like to present to you an upcoming kit to be released by
Masterpiece Models, a model fabrication company that I have been working with since mid-summer. This is a 1/12th scale replica of the Little Boy atomic bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The master was produced by Matt Kilwein, and he has done an outstanding job in it's representation.
I was asked to build and document the construction of the kit for use in the instructions, and then to paint and finish the bomb for it's use as the box art and other promotional materials.
So without further delay here are a few images from the construction, painting, and the final results.
Layout of the parts used for the bomb....
I made templates to be included with the instructions for the proper placement of the stabilizers...
Primed and ready for paint. The small trailer is also included with the kit...

...thanks for your indulgence.
