Something a bit different. Here are some pics I took recently of one of the last dioramas I finished. I have been working on another, (IN WIP), for a long time and it is still far from completion. This one is a shadowbox in 120mm scale. It is called "The Limits of Glory" and depicts Napoleon and his Marshalls at Fontainebleau palace debating his giving up the throne after Waterloo.
An overall shot. The marble is all hand painted, the floors are parquet bass wood stained and polished. I made various things like the books and bookcases and then cast them, The desk is made from scratch, as are the curtains, etc. The remainder of the furniture is either scratch or modified kits.

At the time, VP had only a single marshall in production, so I had to convert six of them to various poses, then sculpt all the heads except the courier to resemble the real Marshalls. I used paintings of them to sculpt all of their heads including Napoleon. The kit head wasn't a good likeness.

A courier delivers a document. The fireplace works with miniature lighting and blinkers.

Le Emperor.
