So, put the
M8 HMC to the side for a moment and started on the Tamiya SdKfz 250/9. Thought, just do a quick little build. Why do I EVER think that? I should just know, old Tamiya kit, gonna have problems.
So I have a couple of those Great Wall Hobbies Maybach's, one of which claims to go to the the 250. So I build it up ... doesn't fit. Okay, well, the oil pan needs to hang out, cut out some space to make it fit, and, stil doesn't fit. So, still ned to do so more surgery.
So then I notice, hmmm, the axel doesn't mach up to the drive wheels. So I do a little modification there, but ... I can't fix it enough to make it fit. WHich turns out to be good, because the axel is actually missing. And where I got the "axel" to, actually turns out to be correct for the transmission. But that moves the engine bay wall up too far , and ... anyway.
In addition, the kit, which I bought used (and already started), came with the Eduard photo etched. I picked up the Friul tracks (and drive wheel) last year. I also have an MG34 barrel, to swap in. And, I'll be using the KwK 38 from my Lionsroar update for the 222. I have a KwK 30 I'll be using in the 222 instead.
Now if I can just upload some photos.
