I actually purchased this kit at the IPMS show in Austin and immediately got to work on it...
I couldn't resist it, its so CUTE! (yes i called a weapon of war cute. deal with it.)
Ok, started out with the top deck. the side vent had to be filled, it was wide open...
also that top grate is terrible!
it needs to go!
if you look at this reference you can see that the grate is actually a thick steel grate. the photoetch sets though have this as a flat piece that also looks bad...
so i hacked it out! and started cutting some evergreen to make my own grill. looks a bit off here but i fixed it:
